SPF Records: Adding Mailprotector IP Ranges for Outbound Email Relay
The article explains that to properly configure outbound email scanning with Mailprotector, domains must add specific Mailprotector IP ranges to their SPF TXT DNS records—using region-specific includes (spf.us.emailservice.io, spf.eu.emailservice.io, or spf.ap.emailservice.io)—to authorize Mailprotector as a valid sender and avoid mail rejection, and provides example SPF record formats and validation resources.
Introduction to SPF - What is it and why do I need it?
If you are configured to use Mailprotector for your outbound email scanning, it is necessary to modify your DNS settings to include Mailprotector IP ranges as valid ranges for your domain to deliver from. Many mail servers, world-wide, require valid SPF records.
Note: This SPF record should only be deployed if your domain is using a Mailprotector hosted solution, or if you are relaying mail out via Mailprotector. Use of this SPF record on domains which are not sending mail via Mailprotector may result in mail being rejected by receiving servers.
Include in your SPF TXT file:
| United States | spf.us.emailservice.io |
| Europe | spf.eu.emailservice.io |
| Asia Pacific | spf.ap.emailservice.io |
SPF records are published in DNS as TXT records:
| United States | "v=spf1 include:spf.us.emailservice.io -all" |
| Europe | "v=spf1 include:spf.eu.emailservice.io -all" |
| Asia Pacific | "v=spf1 include:spf.ap.emailservice.io -all" |
SPF records can be checked for correct format here: http://www.kitterman.com/spf/validate.html
If you have difficulty creating SPF TXT records, contact your domain provider for assistance.
